Plant Trees For Impact

Together, Planting A Forest.

Reforestation is one of the best ways to restore ecosystems that have been degraded and deforested. Plant trees to support restoration work in the locations where it is needed most. Learn more

Planting trees for Impact will contribute to:

  • Growing healthy, resilient forests
  • Restoring habitat for iconic biodiversity
  • Supporting local communities from city to forest
  • Every One Tree Planted project has its own unique challenges and opportunities, but what holds true no matter where you go is that when done correctly, reforestation changes lives for the better. When you Plant trees for Impact, you are making it possible for our reforestation partners, who have dedicated their lives to restoring the landscapes they love, to do what they do best: plant trees where they are needed the most. Reforestation helps the environment by guaranteeing or accelerating the re-establishment of healthy forest structure after extreme events such as forest fires, regrowing the forest canopy, and preserving biodiversity within the ecosystem.
  • Our reforestation partners are passionate, experienced stewards of their local environment. They are grassroots conservation groups, indigenous land management groups, governmental stewardship organizations, global conservation organizations, and more.

Funding for reforestation is unpredictable, and when it does come, it often isn’t enough. By choosing to plant trees for impact, you are providing our reforestation partners with much-needed stability that allows them to focus on what they do best: planting trees and implementing quality reforestation projects.

When you Plant trees for Impact, you will receive a custom report that will provide a detailed review of the impact that your trees have made.
  • A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation.
We'll also send you reports about the project your donation supported so that you can track the impact that your trees are having on the ground!
  • When selecting tree species to plant, we always prioritize native, ecologically appropriate seedlings. We also think about the condition of the land and the goals for the project. This can mean selecting for climate change resilience, forest fire adaptations, sustainable food and forest products, wildlife habitat potential, durability against floods and cyclones, and more.

Why Plant Trees?

Enhanced biodiversity

enhanced biodiversity

Planting trees promotes diverse ecosystems that encourage biodiversity and support a range of habitat types.

Improved soil health

improved soil health

Planting trees helps to rebuild the soil structure and nutrient profile, soaks up excess water, and reduces erosion.

Increased Climate Resilience

increased climate resilience

Trees help cool the planet by absorbing and storing harmful greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide, and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere.

About One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Their projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and environmental organizations to create an impact for nature, people, and wildlife.

Reforestation helps to restore forests that have been degraded or deforested, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity habitat. Many projects have overlapping objectives that contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. These objectives support the growth of healthy forests and the development of urban forestry initiatives.

RECENT PLANT TREES FOR IMPACT PROJECTS

Monarch Butterfly

MONARCH BUTTERFLY HABITAT

Monarch butterfly populations have been dwindling over time due to the loss of milkweed and nectar plants, deforestation and degradation of their overwintering grounds in California and Mexico, pesticide use, and climate change impacts like out-of-season storms, severe temperature drops and heavy rainfall. All of these factors have combined to create a sharp decline, particularly in the past 20 years.

FRUIT TREES CHANGE LIVES

Much of our work in India is focused on planting fruit trees. Our amazing partners are working with local communities across 12 Indian states to plant fruit trees to fight hunger, improve local economies, and combat climate change. Your support will help us make a huge difference. Each fruit tree we plant will equate to at least $10 USD in food and nutrition each year, with a cumulative value of 5 million dollars garnered over the next 50-60 years.

FOREST FIRE RESTORATION

FOREST FIRE RESTORATION

California’s forests need active management in order to improve their health, reduce the risk of major wildfires and pest infestations, and protect this beautiful natural playground for future generations. Our amazing reforestation partners work with several state and federal forestry assistance programs, as well as private landowners, aiming to improve the health and productivity of forest lands.
